One of the events of the week was K3's visit to the Rotorua Public Library - Whare Pukapuka o Te Rotorua.
Sue Heke, marketing manager from the library, told us, "Rotorua Library ran a very successful Te Wiki o Te Reo Maaori programme highlighting Maaori place names, especially in the Rotorua area. But definitely the highlight of the week was the visits by thirteen local schools and kohanga reo who performed for library visitors and then were taken on tours of the library. It was a win/win for all concerned and the organisers were delighted with the school children who performed beautifully and were so well behaved. A huge thank you to all ngaa tamariki and kaiako from the library staff!"
Emma Sayers, the Teens Library specialist, took these video which she shared with us:
The students took photos of their visit:
K3 @ Mokoia Intermediate
We are a class of Year 7 and 8 digital learners in a bilingual class. We will share our learning journey with you on this site. We expect students to edit their own writing so sometimes what you will see is not error free but a work in progress! Mokoia is a community that values respect, honesty, relationships and learning. Please leave us a comment to encourage us. Enjoy!

So what is a blog - tuhi ipurangi?
Why do we blog?
This
year, a big part of our digital literacy programme will be sharing our
learning with our community through a class blog. We are going to
explore the blogs of classes who are blogging. This way, we will be able
to decide how we want to use our blog and what we want it to look like.
We will also be able to start making connections with other classes all
over the world.
Problem:
What are the features of a good blog?
Unpack by asking new questions:
What is a blog?
Who blogs?
What are features?
How will we find out?
